Susan was co-investigator in an award-winning diabetes research study entitled Diabetes Detection in the Dental Office. In 2012, she was awarded the Lucy Hobbs Mentor Award, Lucy was the first female dentist. She currently serves on the Governing Board of the American Academy of Oral and Systemic Health (AAOSH) and is the first recipient of the AAOSH Master Fellowship Award 2018.
